Metamaterial Absorption Technology

Absorbs 99% of unwanted sound for pure and natural sound. The Reference, the class-leading series that consistently sets the standard for loudspeakers and sound reproduction, benefited directly from the technological advancements made for it.

The R Series offers a remarkable acoustic performance by combining with custom technology. The latest version of the R Series features the ground-breaking Metamaterial Absorption Technology1 (MATTM), and the 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array has been improved to maximise the effects of this technological advancement and guarantee the highest level of performance.

True bass definition

Hybrid aluminium bass drivers with greater driver excursion for tight, deep, controlled bass. The R Series' low-frequency drivers have been carefully and precisely developed to deliver it. They are made of a two-part structure with a paper cone on top of a shallow concave aluminium skin. These drivers time so well because of the stiffness of the cone's distinctive form, which also helps to eliminate undesired resonances.

The suspension lessens harmonic distortion for a clean, accurate sound, while the drivers' magnet arrangement produces a wide, homogeneous magnetic field. As a result, the bass is incredibly deep and nimble, revealing every last nuance and punch present in the depths.

12th generation Uni-Q®

The Uni-Q driver array has been redesigned to maximise the performance improvements that MAT delivers. The conical waveguide that couples the tweeter dome to the new metamaterial absorber has been specially designed for the bespoke driver based on its depth.

The re-engineered tweeter gap damper strategically places two rings of porous material to tame the resonances and imperfections effectively, thus greatly improving detail and clarity. The copper ring used in the ultra-low distortion midrange motor design minimises inductance and the fluctuation of inductance with coil location. This improves efficiency by lowering the intermediate THD and minimising thermal compression.

Home theatre made versatile

Seven models make up the R Series, giving listeners a lot of options when putting together their perfect HiFi setup. They may do so with the assurance that they will enjoy an immersive, lifelike sound experience, whether it be a stereo or a home theatre setup.

Microfibre grilles

The dedicated microfibre grilles feature 1,801 precision-cut holes for each driver, delivering uncompromised sonic performance even when the drivers are covered.

Compressed with heated pressure from multiple layers of material, they have a tactile, suede-like feel. The Magnetic fixings provide a secure and precise fit in keeping with the clean styling of the speakers themselves.

The R Series has been engineered to perform with or without grilles, which – though they look beautiful – have a negligible effect on sound performance.
